CHAPTER 7

TEACHER /STUDENT
RELATIONSHIP
* As to Doc Fai Wong's question - "How could Cheung Yim have taught kung fu to his sifu?" My wise and revered elder has enlightened me on this subject. It is true that the 1800's was a close society in China and in many parts of the world as well. The teacher/student relationship is always well demarcated and that should be so even today. But is it so impossible that the chances of a student sharing what he learned through another sifu (and was highly recommended by no other person than his OWN sifu) is non-existence at all? The Chinese Revolution happened in that same close society. Not possible? Sometimes we stereotype people by what little we know. Trying to stereotype the entire society of that time by people of our present age is like trying to tell the "going ons" in a house by looking through a telescope from a ship! How much do you know and how much can you tell? To compound matters, the person (DFW) making that judgement is someone who is very distant from the living Chinese culture of that region. The irrepressible urge to seek and gain further skills and knowledge of another martial arts style from one's own student who has proved to be worthy of being a great teacher himself - is that so implausible and difficult to comprehend? There is no absolute impossibility -only the mind of ignorance needs to be set free! THE MONK CHING CHO IS NO MYTH! The story of monk Ching Cho (Qingcao) is REAL. But of course it is absent from the Chan Clan historical records and it's easy to understand why. The very admittance of his presence would throw their OWN story off track. It would be too close a step towards authenticating the official story that both Cheung Yim and Chan Heung were co-founders of the Choy Lay Fut fighting arts. The historical facts (as you people like to put it) are all there and contained in the history record of the Hung Sing Choy Lay Fut martial arts (which so far I've only disclosed enough to keep you on edge) and I intend to tell the whole story but first I want to clear up all this mess youšve created! Why am I doing this? Because many of you have been misled, deceived and have become too conceited and narrow minded to comprehend the full scope of the controversy surrounding the truth about the history on Choy Lay Fut! The trouble with many of you is you ask the same old questions and will continue to have doubt even if I have given you an honest and straight answer. You only like to hear the answers that is soothing to your senses - not the ones that make the hair on your head stand up! You don't mind the sweet but you can't stand the bitter - the bitter TRUTH! The truth is always there but are you willing to accept it or simply reject it 'cos it hurts your pride, leaves you disillusioned, confused and distressed? If the historical facts of the Hung Sing Choy Lay Fut Legacy is a fallacy, why couldn't the Chan Clan elders prove it? How did the Choy Lay Fut Kung Fu International Union Ltd. get to make that CLARIFICATION on who is the True Originator or Choy Lay Fut? Was it based on falsified historical records!? *"True facts in History have a quality that makes them impossible to distort" (E-mail comments by F. Medina of Chile). Well Mr. Medina, I've presented all the facts. Tell me now, WHO have been the ONES distorting the TRUE History of Choy Lay Fut? Which "story" do you think "crumbles upon it's own misconception"!? Who are the real Deceivers? You better hold on tight as I'll be letting the "cat out of the bag SOON"! ASSIGNMENT: DO YOUR HOMEWORK THOROUGHLY I have given you enough information and answered all your questions the best way I can. There's a lot more I would like to reveal but there are issues that is best not made public because of sensitivity and in any case it doesn't serve any purpose in revealing these things. By keeping yourself in denial, you have cast your own personal cloud of "misconception" over yourself to defy logic. It only serves to mislead the ignorant and build a cult personality out of the person who claims direct lineage to the over glorified ancestor. I have pointed out many discrepancies in the Chan Clan's history on Choy Lay Fut that are discriminating and unsubstantial - it defied logic. You need to examine EVERY "historical facts" very carefully and answer the questions I've asked -but use logic. Don't be simple minded. Misconception is only in the minds of the ignorant. |
